Service Outline

JRANSA is contributing and has a strong willingness to contribute to the following areas with our excellent competency and professionalism.

Research and Development of Radio Air Navigation Systems

This involves formulating the technology development plans for avionics and ground-based radio air navigation systems and its developments, as well as the development of implementation technology for radio air navigation systems.

Cooperation with International Standardization of Radio Air Navigation Systems

This involves the collection of technical standards information evaluated at such panel meetings and working group meetings as Aeronautical Communications Panel (ACP), Navigation Systems Panel (NSP) and Aeronautical Surveillance Panel (ASP) at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). It also involves the collection of technical standards information evaluated and tested at Radio Technology Commission (RTCA) and the Aviation Electronics Technology Commission (AEEC) in the USA, and the European Civil Aviation Electronics Equipment Organization (EUROCAE).

Support of Hosting International Conferences in Japan, such as those of ICAO and the International Federation of Air Traffic Control Technicians (IFATSEA).

This involves conducting research on the current status and technical standards of radio air navigation systems in Japan as well as the status of new technology adoption in the USA, Europe, and other regions.

Research and Development on Implementation Technology and Management of Radio Air Navigation Systems

This involves the research and development of common construction specifications, facility design guidelines, implementation management and cost estimation standards for implementation of radio air navigation systems. This also undertakes the implementation management support work.

International Technical Cooperation Regarding Radio Air Navigation Systems

This involves the hosting of group training sessions for engineering trainees from the developing countries regarding radio air navigation systems and the conducting of project identification surveys in these countries.

Dissemination of Technological Knowledge Regarding Radio Air Navigation Systems

This involves the collection of technical standards information as a corporate member of the US RTCA. This also includes the translation and publication of technical literature and materials on new radio air navigation systems. This also includes the hosting seminars and lectures on ICAO's future air navigation systems and aeronautical satellite systems.

Liaison and Coordination with Domestic and International Aviation-Related Organizations and Members

This involves the publishing the quarterly journal of "Aeronautical Radio" which includes information on new radio air navigation systems and articles covering airport offices, to individual and corporate members. Furthermore, “Aeronautical Radio Technology Exchange Meeting” is hosted to promote technology exchange, understanding and camaraderie among members.

Other activities necessary to achieve the associations’ objectives

This involves the hosting various committee meetings to review regulations and sponsoring aeronautical industry survey tours.
